Lookout Hill Tourism Centre

No respected township tour through Khayelitsha is complete without a stop at Lookout Hill, where handmade crafts are abundant, the views spectacular and the African meals authentic. Lookout Hill Tourism Centre consists of a restaurant, gift shop and information kiosk, set on the highest dune in the Cape Flats area. From here, visitors are blown away with 360° views of the False Bay and three mountain ranges.

Lookout Hill is a popular first stop on your way into Khayelitsha, a beacon easily reached on the corner of Mew and Spine Road. Once you’ve parked, take the wooden boardwalk that leads to the summit where you’ll be able to browse the view, as well as the wares at the craft market. There is also a boardroom and exhibition hall, both of which can be hired out for unique corporate events.

Highlights:

  • The obligatory first stop on any Khayelitsha township tour
  • Find a restaurant, gift shop, information kiosk, boardroom, and exhibition hall
  • 360° views of the Cape Flats, False Bay, and three mountain ranges from the highest dune
